Maker of one-of-a-kind artisan jewelry that connects the wearer to the natural world.

My inspiration.

Wilderness and nature have healed very broken parts of my spirit. I look to nature to guide me, to affirm me, to hold me and remind me that whatever I am facing is tiny compared to the vastness that it is. Stones, this jewelry, is my small and humble way of trying to bring to others what wilderness has given to me.

Rachael Jamison Jewelry is the coming true of a dream I have had for over two decades. I have pushed away my hunger to work with stones, telling myself that it was an unrealistic hope and that I should stick my nose down and achieve in more traditional ways. Two Master's Degrees later, the hunger never left me. Time, in fact, only made its siren song stronger. The soul needs what the soul needs and will not give up until it gets it.

That the pieces I create can be sources of courage, hope, healing, strength, humor, beauty for another kindred spirit navigating the river of life, well, it's humbling and delightfully overwhelming.

My values.

I am a values based business. What does this mean?

My stones. All of my stones are ethically sourced. The processes to obtain the stones do not negatively impact the environment (read: no large mines). The people who source the stones are paid fairly. The people who cut the stones are paid fairly.

I buy all of my stones directly from lapidarists (stone cutters), they are all hand cut. I don't want a stone that was made by a machine. This means the stones I buy are imperfect (my preference, to be honest) and support another artist in the supply chain.

My metal. The silver I use is recycled, my silver waste is recycled. One of the nice things about working with metals is that there is a lot of metal already out in the world, no need to dig for new. I just re-use what is already out there.

My waste. I don't waste any of my waste. I recycle all of my silver scraps. I event keep the silver dust from sawing (I use it to create textures on my silver).

My chemicals. Making jewelry can require very toxic chemicals for several required processes. I have found non- or significantly less toxic chemicals. It makes my process a bit longer but is kinder to this planet we all share.

My process. I am not putting a puzzle together when I make jewelry (read: buying pre-made settings, pre-made rings and just adding stones). I am creating the puzzle and then putting it together. I get sheets of silver, rolls of bezel, and measure and saw it all to fit each unique stone.

When you see a mountain, a feather, a star on your piece, it has been hand sawn from a drawing I made on the metal. Any texture is made by yours truly. From hammering, to texturing, to you name it, none of it arrived at my bench that way, it was all made by my hands.

When you buy a piece from me, you are investing in an ethical supply chain and in the idea that arts (true arts - the things that real people make with their own two hands) matter. Each purchase is a bit deal to me. It is your telling me that you have connected with the part of my spirit that is reflected in the piece you choose. It means more to me than I could put to words. I am seen.

Thank you for joining me on this adventure!
